They Feel
The film
Synopsis
With a parasite controlling most of humanity, brothers Zephyr and Boreas struggle to find supplies and stay alive. Their van keeps them moving, but their bond is what keeps them going.
About the making of the film
They Feel began with Colten and me sitting together one night, wondering what would happen if we entered the 48 Hour Film Project ourselves. It was my first time taking on the challenge. We signed up, pulled buddy film and sci-fi, and started working out what we could make with the people and places available to us. A farm gave us a setting, and a van we could strip down and dress helped us build the film’s post-apocalyptic world. Once we had the story, we knew Baden Oliver was right for the lead. I called him around midnight to confirm, with the shoot starting in roughly six hours. He said yes and showed up ready to take on his first film. After a long day of shooting, we went straight into the edit and submitted the film with about four minutes to spare. That last-minute finish still sticks with me. What started as a spontaneous decision became a completed film made in 48 hours by a core crew of just five people. I’m proud we took the chance, pulled it off together, and came away with friendships that lasted beyond the weekend.
